Ian gained race experience in 2022 at UCI Tour Of L’ardeche 7 days stage race in France with GT Krush Rebel Lease and returned to help the team as the lead mechanic in 2023.
“Heading home to open the GVC workshop after a great experience this week at the professional end of the sport I love as mechanic for GT Krush Rebel Lease Pro Cycling at GRACIA ORLOVA 2023 in Czech Republic. I got my first taster with the team at Tour Cycliste Féminin International de l’Ardèche last summer.
The sheer commitment, determination and talent of the young female riders is truly impressive. They are a real credit and advert for the continuing growth of professional female sport, and cycling in particular.
It’s fascinating to me seeing bike racing from the inside: the lack of glamour; hard work; team spirit; leadership; organisation; planning; tactics; dangers; extreme physical endeavour; physical and mental challenges; thrills…..it is hard work and tiring, lots of travelling and moments of boredom….and I love.
Looking forward to my next gig with them at Toscana in August.
